When can I enroll my book in the Select program?

You can enrol your book in the select program at any time. There are two main conditions. Firstly, it will remain enrolled in Select for 90 days. Secondly, it must be sold exclusively on Amazon in its digital form. If you have your book as a paperback or harcover then that's fine - you can sell it anywhere in that form. While it is in select though you can not sell it at any other online bookstore or directly from your own website in a downloadable format.

I've set up my free book giveaway which starts in a few hours.

Question:
1. Do I email my database to let them know it's free for 24 hours?

2. There are 5 possible free days every 90 days. At what point do I repeat the free book giveaway? (e.g. if it drops off the Kindle (paid) Best Seller list?)

3. Do I create a sales page on my website that sends people to Kindle (I used to have a paypal download button).

1. That's up to you. You should get a good number of downloads either way. If you do email your database it would make sense to ask them to write a review after reading your book.

2. Yes, space them out fairly evenly if you can, but if your book is dropping then it is a good idea to run another promo to bump it back up.

3. Yes, you can link from your website to your book on Amazon so a sales page or any kind of link is fine.

In the video, Sean, you mention pricing your book after the free book giveaway at 0.99c (and then perhaps progressively raising it?).

I notice Kindle set my minimum at $2.99.

What's better - 0.99c for straight after the free book giveaway, then progressively increase it (by how much? and how often?)
or if the minimum is $2.99, that's it?

The idea behind setting it to $0.99 is to get your first few 'verified purchaser' reviews. If Kindle sets it to a minimum of $2.99 then that may be because of the size of the book. Just see how it goes after your free promo.

I changed the ebook sales page on my website from downloading a pdf after paying with paypal, to pointing them back to Kindle to buy there. Can you confirm Kindle is okay with that?

The menu item is: "Smart Study On Kindle".

Yes, that is fine. The only restriction placed on your book during it's enrolment in Select is that you cannot sell the digital version on any other website. You are allowed to link to it on Amazon from anywhere though.
