How Many Pages Should My Book Have?

The number of pages varies greatly and there isn't a 'perfect' number. From a 'value for money' point of view we generally say you should aim for at least 20,000 words. That's around 60 pages.

However, you will see many books that are 20 pages or less and that's okay if they are 20 pages of valuable content. As an example you may be writing a recipe book that will contain your top 15 Cajun cooking recipes. In this case a 20 page book will probably sell quite well, with one recipe per page plus your introduction and some general tips and information.

Don't get too caught up on the number of pages though. You may find that once you get started, the creative juices start flowing and you end up with many more pages than you initially thought you might be able to write.
